When Do We Play?

We have regular weekend morning and weekday night playing times each week. This tends to suit the busy lifestyles of our members, however if there is enough interest then we would certainly consider opening up additional time slots. Each game is for 1 hour, though some timeslots permit back-to-back games for a total of 2 hours.

Weekend morning times are limited by the opening times of the facilities we use and availability of lighting. We hope that we can get earlier start times at facilities in the future so that members can better accommodate tennis into their family life.

What Does It Cost To Play?

By banding together our club is able to attract significant discounts on court bookings. Being a not for profit organisation we pass those discounts onto our members.

Upon joining the club, there is an annual membership fee (payable on joining and every March) that gets you a can of balls, player insurance, AGM catering and helps to go towards organised club events as well as the maintenance and development of our booking system.

From then on it is simply a pay-per-use system. Simply keep your account topped up and in credit and funds will be deducted from it as your bookings are confirmed. You can expect to pay about $8 per player per hour for singles games, and $4 per player per hour for doubles games. Any profits are put back into the club by providing balls to players, organising tournaments and prizes, infrastructure development, and social club events.

How Do I Organise A Game?

We have build a web-based portal that allows you to add yourself to a court for a singles or doubles game. Other members may then add themselves to the same court to play against you. You can also send a message on our members WhatsApp group to invite other players to your game in order to complete the 2 or 4 players needed. On the day of play the portal will reduce your member’s balance by the appropriate amount (for singles or doubles), so you don’t need to worry about bringing money to the court. Just bring your racquet and your (supplied) tennis balls and you are good to go!

What Are We Not?

We are not a means for organising one-off or casual games of tennis. Our members play with varying degrees of regularity, but they are all interested in playing for the medium to long term.

We are also primarily a social tennis club. We have members of all different skill ranges, however the primary focus is to ensure that the games are FUN! That being said, we do organise a yearly singles and doubles tournament to encourage healthy competition and foster the community spirit.

We are not a club for individual members, but rather the whole community. Since we are completely volunteer-run, we make decisions that will benefit all our members over any individuals.

We do not find players for you. While we pride ourselves on being a friendly club, the onus is on you to seek out players from within our community to complete your singles or doubles game if you are short. We have a communal WhatsApp group that makes it easy to ask our membership for additional players for a given time. Again, this stance is to reduce the workload on our volunteers so that we can all enjoy the game with an absolute minimum of overhead.
